I don't understand why people gave bad reviews about this hostel. Based on our experience here are the things that I like most in our 4days and 3nights stay: 1. LOCATION: It was good as it was accessible to all transportation, grocery stores, fast food, fine dine- in, convenience store, tourist spot and street food. 2. STAFF: Easy to deal with and to request whatever we need. Staff are kind which are the 2 Filipina and 1 Indian National that we talked to. 3. FACILITY: The room that we booked for 3 was a private one so we have our own CR and privacy. The elevator was slow but it's okay as the tenant doesn't have control to that because the building itself only has 2 service lifts for all tenants there. NOTE: Expect a long queue in the elevator. 4. FACILITY: The room is good for 3 and it was clean and tidy. The smell was so good as well. The air-conditioning worked very well and the room has a wall fan. It was not spacious as it is only good for sleeping and to take a bath. Though the room was not that spacious, there is a space under the bed to put your luggage and bags. The BATHROOM has tissue available, soap and shampoo. BEDs has the bath towels for 3, pillows and blankets. The bedding was also clean. 5. SERVICE: There is also a service water outside, microwave, refrigerator and hot water available for all bookers. SERVICE telephone was also available in case that you need to call the help of staff. OVERALL we've get what we paid for an affordable price. Our money worth the stay we had with Ashoka hostel. NOTE: Before you proceed with the hotel room, make sure to GO first at 16F to check-in your booking. Prepare your passport, booking details and 100HKD for security deposit that will be refunded after stay.

The hostel was very centrally located and was walking distance to the waterfront. There was a shopping centre opposite the hostel with a MRT station which was very convenient. Lots of eateries and shops around. Only there was no signage with the hostel name outside the building. Just have to locate the place with the building name. But there were lot of helpful people around that helped us locate the hostel. Also need to allow a bit of time sometimes with the lift as there are a few hostels in the building. The room was small but very clean and the staff were very friendly and gave us a lot of tips in regards to travelling around and attractions. On the whole the stay at the hostel was very comfortable.

Nayeen (i forgot the name of the handsome man with the turban) and David were very very accommodating. We were having problems with our booking because my name from the booking is different from my passport because it was just connected to my facebook and its my first time in HK i ddnt know it was not okay because i have no problems in booking my stay in Bali. But i ddnt know so i was trying to explain but the FILIPINO WOMAN was so RUDE and was like pointing out thats shes the boss and she worked there for 13 years. I was just trying to explain. Even though she is a filipino, she is rude and has an attitude to her country fellow men. Indians are better.

Claire

The hotel itself is very clean, comfy and smells good. Housekeeper specially the Indian guy named Aslam helps us a lot, he gave everything i asked and was very willing to help. They make sure you have water for drinking and thermos for hot water is always filled.
